Is this Ottocast product compatible with my car?
Most Ottocast products are designed for vehicles (generally from 2016 onwards) equipped with factory wired Apple CarPlay and/or factory wired Android Auto.
This product requires the vehicle to support factory wired CarPlay.
If your car supports only wired Android Auto and does not support wired CarPlay, the product is not compatible.
The product must be connected to a data USB port in the car (not a charging-only port).
Quick check: Connect an iPhone to the car's data USB port. If CarPlay appears on the screen, the vehicle is compatible. Video: 👉 Watch the video
How can I check compatibility on your website?
On the product page, click on "Check if it's compatible with your car" (below "Checkout"), then select the make / model / year of the vehicle to view the result.

If I have paired two phones, which one will it connect to next time?
If there are multiple associated phones nearby, Ottocast usually reconnects to the last used phone.
To switch to another device, disconnect CarPlay from the current phone (or turn off Bluetooth/Wi-Fi), then connect the other phone.
Some models also support one-touch switching or manual device selection.
Can I move it between two cars?
Yes. Simply unplug it and use it in another compatible vehicle. In the new car, you may need to pair your phone again or perform a quick initial setup.
Which apps come pre-installed on Play2Video Ultra and which ones cannot be removed?
Play2Video Ultra comes with Netflix, YouTube, IPTV and Prime Video pre-installed.
Some essential system components (e.g. connectivity/updates) are required for normal operation and typically cannot be removed. You can also add other apps via the App Hub.
As an upgraded version of Play2Video Pro, what improvements does Play2Video Ultra offer?
Play2Video Ultra has been updated to offer faster, smoother performance, with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and over-the-air FOTA updates (via the OttoPilot app). It supports wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, includes pre-installed streaming apps plus App Hub, and supports offline/local music and video playback via USB.
How many extra apps can I install and how do I install them? Which apps are included?
You can install up to 5 extra apps from App Hub (in addition to the apps already pre-installed).
To install/replace: App Hub → choose an app → Install.
To replace later: App Hub → Manage → replace an installed app.
Pre-installed apps (may vary depending on region/firmware): TikTok, TikTok Lite, torne®mobile, ARD Mediathek, VKVideo, LINE MUSIC, Joyn, DAZN, U-NEXT, Tubi, RTL+, Кинопоиск.
What is the advantage of Wi-Fi 6? What does dual Wi-Fi mean?
Wi-Fi 6 provides faster and more stable wireless performance, especially for smoother streaming.
Dual Wi-Fi means that the device can maintain the connection for CarPlay/Android Auto and at the same time remain connected to another hotspot/network for Internet access, offering more flexible connectivity.
Does Play2Video Ultra support the mirroring function? Can I project my phone screen onto the car?
No, Play2Video Ultra does not support smartphone mirroring. However, you don't need to: you can watch apps like YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, and IPTV directly on your car's screen.
Do I need to buy a separate remote control to use Play2Video Ultra in my car?
If your car screen is not touch-sensitive, we highly recommend purchasing a remote control as well. It will greatly improve your user experience.
Wireless connection not perfectly smooth?
In rare cases, during wireless CarPlay/Android Auto use, minor slowdowns or interruptions may occur. Here are some simple solutions:
1. Prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks
The 5 GHz band offers a more stable connection than 2.4 GHz.
2. Reconnect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi
If necessary, manually disconnect and reconnect to a 5 GHz network.
3. Avoid 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks during use
They can affect stability and audio quality.
Occasional disconnections or device restart?
In rare cases, this may be due to the vehicle's power supply:
• Some car USB ports may provide limited or unstable power
• For greater stability, we recommend using the Y-cable
👉 Once the power supply is stable, the device will function normally
Play2Video Ultra isn't connecting to your smartphone?
In some cases, the connection might not establish correctly. Check the following points:
- Vehicle Compatibility
Play2Video Ultra supports cars with wired CarPlay, but is not compatible with vehicles that only have wired Android Auto. - Android Requirements
Ensure that your Android smartphone has Android 11 or higher and full Google services installed. - Reset Connections
Delete saved Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections on your phone and reconnect the device from scratch. - Device Reset
If the problem persists, press and hold the reset hole for approximately 15 seconds, then try connecting again.
